Alyssa currently serves as the Managing Partner of AJR Ventures, a firm providing strategic advisory services to companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500’s in the technology, beverage and/or luxury goods categories. In 2014, Alyssa Rapp joined the ranks as a lecturer in management at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, annually teaching a course on the Global Dynamics of the Wine Industry. Previously, Alyssa served as the founder & CEO of Bottlenotes, Inc., the leading interactive media company in the U.S. wine industry. She is the author of Bottlenotes Guide to Wine: Around the World in 80 Sips®. As such, Alyssa was named in Inc. Magazine’s “30 Under 30” coolest entrepreneurs in America” and is consistently named one of the wine industry’s top 100 most influential people by Intowine.com. Bottlenotes received the “People’s Choice Award” at the Empact Showcase at the United Nations, honoring the top 100 companies with founders under 35. Alyssa frequently serves as contributor to national print publications and television networks (Forbes, The Today Show, etc.) as an expert on wine and entrepreneurship.Alyssa earned a B.A. in Political Science and the History of Art from Yale University in 2000 and an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 2005. Alyssa serves on the Board of Trustees for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the country’s preeminent contemporary dance company, on the national Board of Directors of Spark Program, a nonprofit that provides life-changing apprenticeships for middle school students, and is a gubernatorial-appointee to the Illinois Housing Development Authority board, dedicated to providing affordable housing throughout the state of Illinois. When not immersed in entrepreneurial and civic life, Alyssa loves to run track, do yoga, ski fast, and try as hard as possible to decipher a slider from a curve ball from her husband, 1990 MLB World Series champion and Director of Professional Scouting for the Los Angeles Angels, Hal Morris. Tracy Wan

Tracy has deep executive level experience at omni-channel retailers as President and Chief Operating Officer. Tracy’s leadership has universally delivered dramatic improvement in financial and team performance. As President and COO of The Sharper Image in the 1990’s. Tracy led organizational growth six-fold to a $780 million business with 180 stores nationwide, over $120 million of e-commerce sales. Tracy has the advantage of a strong financial background having been Chief Financial Officer at the publicly traded Sharper Image before stepping up to the President, and COO role. As CFO, Tracy led two successful rounds of stock offerings which raised more than $100 Million.

Most recently, Tracy served as President of Cycle Gear, the nation’s largest and best known motorcycle apparel and accessories retailer with over 110 stores nationally and a growing e-commerce footprint. Cycle Gear just completed a successful private equity exit transition last year.

Early career years Tracy was VP of Finance for publicly-traded REITs and real estate partnerships being the in-charge of financial and property operations, and participated in fund raising.Tracy has five years of CPA firm experience in California in Audit, Accounting Services and Tax; she is a graduate of San Francisco State University, with a B.S. degree in Business Administration/Finance & Accounting. Tracy and her husband of over twenty years, Carl, live in the San Francisco Bay area.

Jonathan Sommers

Jon is working with AJR Ventures on marketing strategy and financial analysis for e-commerce companies. Prior to joining AJR Ventures, he spent three years in investment banking where he worked at various firms including Headwaters MB; the 2015 and 2016 top ranked “U.S. Investment Bank of the Year”. Jon earned a BS in Finance from DePaul University in 2013 and is an active member in Future Founders, a non-profit organization that mentors inner-city students on topics of business and entrepreneurship. When not working, Jon is likely finishing his most recent book, playing with his dog Mocha, or catching a Chicago Blackhawks game.

Anthony Overstreet

Anthony consults on digital marketing initiatives for e-commerce companies. Prior to joining AJR Ventures, he spent three years at Bottlenotes, Inc. as Senior Operations Manager and ultimately Director of Operations. At Bottlenotes, Anthony was responsible for audience development and digital strategy as well as managing Bottlenotes’ three digital publications: The Daily Sip (400,000+ subscribers), Weekly Pint (70,000+ subscribers) and The Proof (100,000+ subscribers).

Anthony earned a BA in economics from Yale University in 2012 and currently serves on the San Francisco Bay Area advisory board of the Spark Program, a non-profit organization that provides professional apprenticeships and academic guidance to middle school students in underserved communities. He also devotes his time to giving back to the community of East Palo Alto as a Math and English tutor at the Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula. When not working, Anthony’s favorite pastimes are playing kickball, watching basketball and football, tasting delicious wines and craft beers, and world travel.

Jingying is working with AJR Ventures on e-commerce and marketing strategy. Previously, she was a management consultant at Bain & Company, advising Fortune 500 companies on key strategic issues. She also spent time in the public sector working for the state government of Massachusetts on health care policy. In her free time, she volunteered with Unreasonable Labs Boston to host a hyper-accelerator for social impact enterprises, Photoshops joke business cards for her friends, and listens to too many audiobooks while walking. She graduated from Yale University with a BS in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.

Ahin Thomas

Ahin is a seasoned Marketing executive and a leader with a deep understanding of the modern Commerce stack. He is passionate about creating systemic solutions, enduring value, and developing great talent. Aside from his advisory work, Ahin has served as the Head of Marketing for Symphony Commerce. Symphony is the leader in the Commerce-as-a-Service space having recently been recognized as Shop.org’s startup of the year. Ahin was responsible for architecting and executing all marketing aspects of this innovative B2B company.

Prior to Symphony, Ahin was the co-founder and CEO of Vintners’ Alliance.  VA was the leading Marketplace connecting wineries directly with consumers.  The Marketplace was built on proprietary data models, fueled by online data provided from over 700 member wineries – believed to be the largest cache of its kind ever assembled on the US wine buyer.  While at VA, he also co-authored California regulations that govern compliant alcohol transactions.

Ahin has also served as Director, eCommerce for Sears Holdings. He holds his MBA from Wharton, AB from Georgetown University (Government, with Honors). A Bay Area native, Ahin is also an experienced musician and songwriter.  He lives in San Francisco with his wife, Jenn, and their dog, Blankets.
